Spenders and Savers

August 18th, 2010

Hello Marvelous People!

Ok, stop right now! Answer this simple question.
Are you a Spender or a Saver?

If I asked your significant other, or your parents, or your best friend–would they give me the same answer that you would? Go ahead. Ask them now. I’ll wait.

After interviewing thousands of couples since 1978,  I’m totally convinced that the two most important factors in our lives is: 1> Emotional Security 2> Financial Stability. And these 2 factors are interconnected.

And whether you are a Spender versus a Saver has a huge impact on your emotional security and your financial stability. If you are a Spender,  how many more years are you “willing” to work? How much longer will you “need” to work? If you are a Saver, how many more years are you “willing” to work? Or “need” to work?

At this point,  if you’re unwilling to face these questions, then let me make it easy for you. Chances are you’re a Spender. And you will never retire.      Seriously. How’s that make you feel?

My dear people, in volatile times, it’s EASIER to REDUCE LIFESTYLE than it is to INCREASE INCOME. Now I didn’t say it was EASY. But I did say it was EASIER. Frivolous, spontaneous, unplanned spending today will only do two things for you.

1> It will extend the number of years you will need to work. Possibly NEVER retiring.

2> It will choke your chances to pursue your dreams that really matter. Friends, Family, Travel, Career choices – they all suffer.

So my action step for you is to take hold of your finances. One small step at a time. You didn’t get into your situation over night. So it’s gonna take a little bit of work and some commitment on your part. But we can get you there. I promise. Take faith.

If you email me, MarvinLeBlanc@aol.com, I will give you my time and a formula to get you on the path to Emotional Security and Financial Stability. It won’t cost you a cent. That’s not what this is about. I will give you something much more valuable than money. I will give you my time & my experience and the first step.

I can’t wait to connect with you. Let’s move forward to a better place.

Marvelous Performance Systems presents “The Coffee Track”

July 15th, 2010

Sales is an amazingly diverse field and an unknown number of people around the world struggle with some of the same problems. We will try today to bring together a common issue with a possible solution–The Coffee Track.

Scenario: You had some brief conversation with a prospect or a customer, then you get to the point where you don’t know how to ask for the appointment.

Here’s the Coffee Track:

Mr. Prospect, what I suggest we do is sit down and have a cup of coffee. I will tell you who our company is, how we work and how it can benefit you. Mr. Prospect, at that point if you feel like you’d like to work with us, we’d love to have you. On the other hand, Mr. Prospect, if you feel like our company is not a good fit for you, I’ll be the first to tell you let’s not do it. Now, that sounds reasonable doesn’t it?

Prospect says, yes.

It is at this point that you give him alternative times:

Mr. Prospect, would 9:20am on Thursday morning or 3:40pm on Tuesday afternoon be better for you?

(Remember—never book an appointment on the hour or the half hour.)

Write a comment on why you think we recommend to never book an appointment on the hour or half hour. Or write a comment on how you would handle the sample scenario differently–sharing best practices helps us all grow!

Be Significant Today!

Mic’s Story–May It Inspire You To Act!

May 25th, 2010

David is a friend of ours in the insurance industry. He had a powerful message that he shared with peers and we wanted to share with you too:

Friends,

I wanted to let you know I am on my way to Knoxville to celebrate the life of my best friend Mic. He and I became friends my sophomore year in High School and have been close ever since. We were born on the same day May 24, 1978, but he passed away on Tuesday March 16th. During intern training I went to Florida for a few days to try and help him win his battle and addiction to pain killers. Our other best friend John Coffman and I thought Mic made a turn in the right direction, but we were wrong.

We, like many of our policy holders, think that young men and women will live to be old men and women, especially those close to us. As far as I know, Mic did not have any life insurance and due to his addiction left a great deal of debt behind. Mic’s family, although not wealthy should one day be able to overcome these financial concerns. But, how many people do we come in contact with every day that truly need a resounding voice of reason? We all have stories that we share with our clients about the need for life insurance, but I thought I would share one more for you to think about. I sell life insurance to help family’s plan for disasters and hope you do too.

We hope that this message about Mic may inspire you to ACT to protect your loved ones! Share this message with others, and share your thoughts with us.
